had an adult Cooper's Hawk visit my backyard feeder this afternoon. Sat on
the limb of a deciduous tree about six feet off the ground about three feet
from a suspended feeder full of sunflower seed that attracts house finches.
What was remarkable was that this is only a few feet from my back door and
enclosed on two sides by garage and decking. I regularly walk back and
forth and was only about 10 feet away when I noticed "him" . The bird did
not immediately fly away, but allowed me to admire his orange/red eyes and
left when he was ready.
