On my afternoon walk today I spotted a Great Blue Heron perched on a piling
on the outer edge of the swimming area at Magnusson Park. It was moving from
foot to foot - not really swaying, but putting each foot down deliberately and
picking the other one up.
I watched for about 2 minutes (was with other walkers) and it did this the
entire time. Didn't appear to be in pain, but I'd never seen this or heard of
this.
I thought at first "frost on the piling" but there shouldn't have been any left
at 1:30pm today. But perhaps it was just cooler than it liked, as there was a
metal cap on the piling.
Any thoughts?
