I suggest two places:

1) Leadbetter Point at the end of Long Beach Peninsula. It's the most
generally birdy place in the area. You'll have a good chance of seeing
a falcon or two, Merlin more likely than Peregrine this time of year, but
both are possibilities. Keep and eye out for a Snow Bunting in the dunes
and along the outer beach. It would be rare but possible, and this is
prime time. It's not too early to look for Snowy Owls there too.

2) Tokeland, across the mouth of the bay, is where you'll find Godwits.
There had been a large flock of Marbled Godwits and a single Bar-tailed
Godwit residing in that area recently. Some of them may have continued
on south by now, but I imagine there are at least a few still around.
