northeastern Oregon bird hotline.

At Mann Lake on October 28th, Dan and Ayla Svingen found 1 BLACK-
BELLIED PLOVER, 2 KILLDEER, 1 BAIRD SANDPIPERS, 5 DUNLIN -- a
high count for the Lake -- 2 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, AND 4 species
of GREBES: HORNED, EARED, WESTERN, and PIED-BILLED, 2 AMERICAN
PIPPITS, 1 SNOW GOOSE, and 10-15 BONAPARTE'S GULLS. There
were 2 NORTHERN SHRIKE at the entrance to the Lake.

Mann Lake is at Idaho DeLorme p. 54, A-1 and is reached via Grelle
Avenue.

Also in the Lewiston area, Carole Vande Voorde reports a BONAPARTE'S
GULL at the Marina in Swallow's Nest Park on the Washington side of the
Snake River upstream from Clarkston, Washington. A WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE was among the large flock of Canada Geese at the far western
end of the Port of Lewiston grain terminals. The grain terminals are on
the north side of the Clearwater River, west of Hwy. 12.

On October 28th, John Gatchet found a female TUFTED DUCK on
Antelope Reservoir in southeastern Oregon. The road to the reservoir is
12.1 miles south of the town of Jordan Valley. The duck was at the
second inlet to the east. The reservoir also hosted 19 TUNDRA SWANS,
1 CANVASBACK AND 4 AMERICAN AVOCETS. The reservoir is at
Oregon DeLorme p.75 a-7.5.

At Cow Lakes -- Oregon DeLorme p. 79, D-7, John found 200 SNOW
GEESE, 16 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 2 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 38
DUNLIN, AND 6 BONAPARTE'S GULLS.

Kathleen Bodley and her husband observed a SNOW BUNTING in the
backyard of their Pullman home on October 31. The Bodleys live at SE
240 South Street.

Tom Besser reports the season's first SNOWY OWL sitting on a fence
post about a mile north of Moscow.

Jim Johnson found a RED-NECKED GREBE on Lake Coeur d'Alene near
the Resort, between the Hagadone Corporation building and a sea plane
dock on October 24th & 25th.
