On 9/24 we posted a message that we had seen a banded Peregrine at Ocean
Shores and asked how to report this info. Jon Anderson provided the
information and we have had a preliminary reply. We received a copy of a
letter fron the Bird Banding Lab to a USFWS employee in Fairbanks Alaska who
may have been the bander.

He has responded asking for more information but told us that they have
color banded almost 1000 peregrines in the interior and northern Alaska and
that they read 50 - 75 bands per summer on adult birds. He said that most
of the nestlings return to breed in the same general area.

This weekend we observed a wing marked immature Bald Eagle along Route 6
near Trap Creek (mp 12) and will let you know if we get a responses to this
or furthur information from Fairbanks.
