Sounds like a job for some tweets! The Ochoco mountains are in
the eastern part of the state, ex-pond pine old-growth.

> While I was talking today with Terry Bryan, a biologist for the Ochoco
> National Forest in Prineville, he mentioned that they're looking to hire
> someone to count birds in the Ochocos next summer. Work begins in May
> and runs through the summer. He has a number of plots set up where
> you'll tally birds heard during a fixed period of time each day. Excellent
> skills at auditory recognition of birds required. If you're interested
> or know of someone who might be, call him at (503) 447-9645.
