Got it in one. For anybody else looking for it. Find the old telegraph post
at the NW corner of the main pond. About 100 feet to the NW is an area cleared
by CUH with oregon oak planted on it. The "lawn" is just on the east side of
the rope marking the area.

I cleared the area to make it easier for the sparrows to see the seed and
make it easier for birders to see the sparrows. There's quite a bit of cover
relatively close by to stand beside/behind - though the birds seem quite
confiding. The backdrop of blackberry gives plenty of cover for the birds and
its fun waiting to see what will pop out of the brush next.

The pheasants have discovered the seed - no surprise there. Well at least I
won't have to worry about what I'm having for Christmas dinner. Perhaps I
should thrown down some currants and oatmeal so they come ready stuffed :-)

I am also thinking about putting some seed down in an open area to see
whether I can attract any longspurs - though it's relatively hard to find an
area frre of scrub that is not directly on a path. Anybody got any suggestions
?
