If you hear any news about another Quebec referendum do a quick change back
to American money; ours won't be worth anything!

This year we are making every effort to get all levels of birders to
participate with particular emphasis on those who feel they can't compete
with the "good" ones. We will be encouraging people to form groups of mixed
experience levels so that the inexperienced do have a chance of talking to,
and learning from the more experienced. A number of good birders have
already volunteered to lead groups.
Last year, Dick Cannings of Okanagan fame, led a group of inexperienced
birders and they saw 52 species in about a three-hour period. We had groups
of experienced birders that saw over 100 birds with the top count being 129.
We don't want this to be a "competitive" event other than for those who want
to challenge themselves. Our number one priority is for the participants to
have fun with the second objective being to raise as much money for habitat
conservation as we can.
Once we get more of the details settled I will post additional information.
Maps of the count area and information sheets on the event itself will be
available from me.
Thanks
