The Framboises posted: "The tide tables indicate the following corrections
for Ocean Shores and Toke Point:

Ocean Shores: -0:13 high tide -0:13 low tide
Toke Point: +0:23 high tide +0:31 low tide

Therefore, Toke Point lags behind Ocean Shores by about 36 minutes at high
tide and 44 at low tide."

These corrections (actually "offsets") are based on astronomical
calculations and, sometimes, limited field measurements. The predicted
tides for secondary stations may contain significant seasonal errors and
are affected by wind and hydrographic phenomena. *Do not* set your watch by
them. It's best to arrive at the spot 15-30 minutes ahead of time;
especially for those crucial high tides.
