JMike, As I've said, its a shame the birders living in extreme NE Washington
have not actively contributed much to the atlas project. Enormous gaps of many
common montane and lowland species are obvious from this region, including the
Wilson's Warbler. Entire ecosystems and regions have been virtually untouched.
For example: the most inspiring riparian forest in all of eastern Washington
lies along 50 miles of the Sanpoil River south from Republic. It is easily
accessible, but I have not heard of any reports from that river valley (it may
well harbor the most important breeding populations for a variety of riparian
passerines such as Red-eyed Vireo in e WA)...needs to be explored. Deserves a
BBS route too!
