I'm not sure of the original intent of this thread, WHWP known or suspected
nesting areas or just sightings, but my 2 cents are:

In July 1991, I observed a single female WHWP in open Pondera Pine above
Synarep, WA - Tunk Valley - bird was on private land and seen from the road.
Synarep is about 14 miles east of Riverside off Highway 97, Riverside is 5
miles north of Omak (Okanogan County). I've spent several weekends a year
(April-Oct) in this area since 1990, and this is my only WHWP sighting.
