While I certainly encourage good notes to Debi Terwilliger of our parks dept.,
I would also urge similar thank-you's to the county council who continue to
stand by a long term commitment to keep purchasing Snohomish River estuary
lands, including Spencer Island. All told, the county now owns over 1000
acres, most of which is only accessible by boat - and that's OK. Appreciations
to the council will backup my efforts from the inside.

I will keep an eye on the dog/bike issue. In the meantime, bigger, better
signs are on the way to better inform people of the rules. There's a park
ranger on duty on the weekends to control access. If you go there, stop by and
say hello. He/she is hanging out in a large, cold shipping container near the
bridge.

Following is the council address, or you can e-mail them in care of me.

Thanks.
