For most of this year I've been trying to help save the Creston Valley
Wildlife Area in south-eastern B.C. as our Federal Government has withdrawn
funding and the Provincial Government has significantly reduced its
contribution. As if these cuts were not enough, we now seem to have a
cross-border conservation conflict to contend with.

There appears to be a Sturgeon conservation program of some sort that needs
additional water releases from the Libby dam in Montana. This is impacting
the water levels of the Kootenay (Kootenai) River which, in turn, is causing
problems with the levels in the marshes at Creston.

Does anyone know of this Sturgeon conservation program? I'd like to get
more information on it so that we can let them know of the impacts at Creston.

Thanks
