White Sturgeon in the kootenai River in North Idaho either have been
listed or are proposed for listing under the ESA. My memory is -- and I
woul dhave to dig a bit to find the clipping file -- is that spawning is
related to water temperature/flow. There are no sturgeon younger than
about 20 years of age because it was at that point that the flows became
dam controlled. Increased flows are intended to trigger the urge to
spawn, etc.

Anyone who is interested should be able to get information from either
USFWS or Idaho Fish & Game.
