Gee Serge, my S. African bird book lists Upupa epops as a common resident.
I've always thought of it as an African Hoopoe and as a resident of East and
Southern Africa. I didn't know it migrated but then I'm usually there during
the northern hemisphere Fall/Winter. Saw one near Victoria Falls at the end
of October. Tahnks for the information.
