The Seattle
Autubon Society gull identification class took a fieldtrip last
Saturday between Edmonds and Port Angeles, Wa. Our instructor, Bob
Sundstrom, lead a small group of about 12 enthusiastic birders
including myself.

Highlights Included: Common Loon, Western
Grebe, Red-necked Grebe, Horned Grebe, Double-crested Cormorant,
Pelagic Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Mallard, American Wigeon, Eurasian
Wigeon, Northern Pintail, Black Scoter, White-winged Scoter, Surf
Scoter, Harlequin Duck, Barrow's Goldeneye, Common Goldeneye,
Bufflehead, Common Merganser, Red-breasted Merganser, Hooded Merganser,
Black Oystercatcher, Black-bellied Plover, Long-billed Dowitcher, Black
Turnstone, Dunlin, Sanderling, Heermann's Gull, Mew Gull, Herring Gull,
California Gull, Thayer's Gull, Western Gull, Glaucous-winged Gull,
American Coot, Common Murre, Pigeon Guillemot, Marbled Murrelet,
Rhinoceros Auklet, Bald Eagle, Northern Harrier, Merlin, Peregrine
