This afternoon 4 species of geese could be found at McNary NWR including one
ROSS' GOOSE, two White-fronted Geese, and a blue-phase Snow Goose. The
Ross' and White-fronteds were in Burbank Slough east of headquarters in
section 5 of T5N R21E. The Ross' was resting on the water with several
thousand Canada's. This area can be difficult to view from Humorist Rd but
is accessible from the north side of the slough off of Hwy 124 at the south
end of Gallant Rd. Interestingly, no swans were noted in this area.

The Snow Goose was in a newly cut corn field west of Hwy 12 north of
headquarters.

Yesterday there were 19 Dunlin on Soap Lake in Grant Co. but the
Yellow-billed Loon and scoters recently reported from lower Grand Coulee
were not found.
