I forget who originally questioned my word usage ("built") re
Great-horned Owl nesting, other than it was one of us to the north
of Blaine. In any case, if anyone cares, below is the original
verbage from BWD thanks to Tom Foote.

I don't see who sent that message, but if you want to
"reference"
him the story is in the BWD Nov/Dec p. 56 NEIGHBORS: PARROTS
AND
OWLS.

p. 61 "..since great horned owls don't build their own nests
but
instead take over the nests of other birds such as
red
tail hawks, eagles, herons and crows they must have
looked
on this tree of huge stick mounds as a nest hunter's
paradise.
They settled on the tree's biggest nest..etc.."

This took place in Connecticut and the story was
about
a rather large colony of monk parakeets.
