I checked my notes last night and the trough is 2.6 miles up the road, at
that point the road splits and there are a series of troughs (3) every
couple hundred yards. I think I remember the one closer to the main road,
the one you refer to, as being dry- at least it was in Sept.
We saw several hundred (at least it seemed so) pine siskins gathered there
in Sept. with a pair of accipiters and a merlin cruising the area.
