I went to Spencer Island yesterday, most notable sighting was a bittern in
flight just to the north of the levee (sorry about that Barry). I had never
seen one flying before, they are a beutiful bird with light brown feathers
and a contrasting black wing tips. Too bad we don't see them in flight more
often (too bad we don't see them on the groung more often for that matter).
Also, what's the scoop on the report of 45 snipe recently on Tweeters? Am I
missing something? Isn't it more likely that these were some other bird?
