Hi Tweeters,

A crisp, clear day traipsing over the broken ground of the ski slopes at
about 1100--1200 meters above W Vancouver. The warm air and torrential
rains of the Pineapple Express jetstream had previously melted whatever
snow had fallen there in the last few weeks.

species:

1 Bald Eagle, ad.
1 Eagle sp.
1 Sapsucker sp. (voice-only)
1 Pileated Woodpecker
1 Gray Jay
1 Steller's Jay 8 Common Ravens (5 in a group at the base of the
mountain, 3 up top)
6 Chestnut-backed Chickadees
1 Red-breasted Nuthatch
4 Golden-crowned Kinglets
1 Hermit Thrush
2 Song Sparrows (prob. migrants; definitely not a wintering location)
22 Dark-eyed Juncos (all 'Oreganus'-type)
1 Pine Grosbeak
12 White-winged Crossbills
5 Crossbill sp.
350 Pine Siskins
35 Evening Grosbeaks (located by K. Irving)

Cheers,

Michael Price
