Tweets,

I did the good deed and dropped off my frozen Violet-green Swallow with the
Burke Museum per Michael Donahue's instructions.

They were both eager and gracious to accept my offering, so it's *really* true
they do want those finds! I met Carol, and she gave me a pile of tags to
fill out and attach to future unwilling scientific donations (do I have to
check that they have signed an organ donor card first?) along with the same
instructions Michael gave for basic preservation. If anyone needs some, I would
be happy to share - I surely don't expect to find ten dead birds anytime soon!

By the way, since this one was probably a car-kill; how do car-kills rank in
the list of bird mortality causes? Certainly less than cat-kills; but given the
lack of people walking/biking, and hence not noticing, I wonder how many
car-kills there might be in comparison to window-kills (which I expect are
noticed far more frequently).
