Hello, this is Portland Audubon Society's Rare Bird Alert. This recording
was Made Tuesday November 21. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The Summer Lake WHOOPER SWAN continues to be seen on the display pond along
the highway.

A TROPICAL KINGBIRD was found November 18 along the South Jetty Road south
of Florence. Drive south out of Florence on Highway 101. Turn right onto
South Jetty Road. Just before the road turns north there is a wide turnout
on the north side of the road with "no RV Parking" and "no camping" signs.
Park there and checked the immediate area. The bird is usually just north
of there about a pond.

A GYRFALCON was seen along the road just east of McFadden March in Finley
Refuge November 18. A SNOW BUNTING was on top of Marys Peak that day.

A CATTLE EGRET was along Highway 101 in the Fogarty Creek area of Lincoln
County November 20. Many ANCIENT MURRELETS are still being seen off Boiler
Bay. On November 18 two PARASITIC JAEGERS and a SOOTY SHEARWATER were with
the KITTIWAKES and other birds gathered offshore.

GREAT EGRET numbers are down to about a dozen now at Smith Lake in North
Portland. Duck numbers are increasing there now. Two CANVASBACK and a
WESTERN GREBE were there November 17.

A surprising CLIFF SWALLOW was at the Forest Grove Ponds November 19. Up to
150 COMMON MERGANSERS are now gathered on the pond. A bright EMPEROR GOOSE
was along Westside Road between Yamhill and Carlton November 18 but it did
not remain.

A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was along a farm lane west of Canby November 20.
Take Knights Bridge Road west out of Canby turning north on Barlow Road.
Where Barlow Road takes a sharp right turn to the east turn left onto a
dirt road. The bird is in this area.

A RED-NECKED GREBE is now on a large farm pond along McKee Road just south
of Amity. Good numbers of swans are back in the Airlie area of southwest
Polk County. A number of TRUMPETER SWANS are being seen among the flocks.
About 170 GREAT EGRETS are still at Fern Ridge Reservoir west of Eugene. A
possible SNOWY EGRET was with them November 18. A PRAIRIE FALCON was also
in the area that day.
