There have been THREE Broad-wingeds reported from there this fall, an
adult and two immatures. Dave and Allison, the two paid observers,
mentioned that they all flew low over the ridge right over their
observation station!

I was up there yesterday (Oct 1), where we enjoyed a pretty decent
flight by Oregon standards--about a hundred birds--although the total
didn't include any unusual species. The biggest surprise, to me, was
the number of adult Cooper's Hawks, about 40 birds, which greatly
outnumbered immatures. I suppose this is a reflection of poor
reproductive success in Washington.
