Back in June I asked on Tweeters if anyone knew how Dr. Irene Pepperberg's
research on the intelligence of African gray parrots had been going. James
Ha replied (thanks Jim) but I didn't follow up (too lazy, I guess). Just
this week one of those services that tells you about neat new stuff on the
WEB came across my cathode ray tube with the URL of "The Alex Foundation"
with several links to Pepperberg's articles and other stuff about her work.
If you're at all interested in studies of birds' abilities to communicate,
you probably will find this a fascinating home page. Here is the address:

Apparently its been online since September 7. Its quite well done (although
for some reason I found it took a long time to download) and her article
"Studies to determine the intelligence of African grey parrots" (1995) is a
worthwhile read. Why would a parrot always call an apple a banerry?
