So you think OJ will steal his way home, eh, and earn a free pass? Don't
you think the public will balk at that? I know the doctrine of no
double jeopardy means that in this case there'd be no replay of this
farce, but still, fair is fair and foul is foul. And he's shown himself
to be something of a foul ball player, don't you think? Anyway, I
intend to catch the verdict from home this morning.

(Great subhead in Oregonian this morning: "Shapiro calls appeals
lawyer")

We tweeters types should be rooting for the Orioles, Jays or Cardinals
anyway, don't you think?

The Kingdom should've never been built. The Space Needle is merely
tacky, a mishmash of the Eiffel Tower and backdrops for "the Jetsons".
The Kingdom is not only tacky, but ugly, dangerous, and an insult
to America's Game. Which is why my last major league game was seen
in San Diego, a fine ballpark with real grass, sunshine and cheap seats
and (at the time) Fred McGriff, Gary Sheffield and a few other ballplayers
(of whom only Tony Gwinn is left, oh well the company I consulted for
down there is bankrupt anyway).

Back to birds: sounds like broadwinged hawks have been crawling out
of the woodwork this year, since Russell reports one was seen on
the Olympic Penninsula this fall (plus one at Cape Flattery in the
spring and three at Bonny Butte here on Mt. Hood). My theory is that
if more people think about seeing them being a real possibility, we'll
hear of more sightings - they are easy to mistake for red-tails from
below if they're soaring and one doesn't bother looking closely.

Hey, the newscast is on and Peter Jennings has already spouted
a wonderfully nonsensical bullshit line: "Only the Russians aren't
well-represented here".
