Tweeters,

I thought I'd pass along some information about the World Bird Count that I
found on the Web. Nippon Telephone and Telegraph (NTT) will donate $10 to a
non-profit birding organization for each species seen and reported during
the count. There are plenty of northwest species (and hence dollars) that
we could add to the list. Additional information can be found at the
following web page.

> Joining the "NTT World Bird Count" is very easy. Just find or hear
birds any time during the period, and
>send the list of the species you have found or heard to the NTT World Bird
Count Office. The Office will then
>put together all the lists and announce the first results toward the end of
October through the Internet and other
>media. We are already thrilled to find out what kinds of birds can be seen
at the same period in the different
>areas on earth.
> This quick report will later be followed by in-depth analyses of the
lists from various angles. Please look
>for the analyses, too.
