Jane--

We stayed on the mountain until 2:00 on Saturday. The weather was
not getting any better, mostly socked-in with west wind gusts over
20 mph and rain. The occational breaks
did allow us to see hawks, causing us to speculate that hawks were
migrating-we just could not see them. Do hawks migrate through
inclement weather? Don?
Between 10:23 and 1:05 we saw 7 migrating hawks: 4 sharpies and
3 red-tails. Other species: W-b Nuthatch 5, Brown Creeper 2,
D-e Junco 7, Clark's Nutcracker 2 (cliffs), Pine Siskin many overhead,
Red Crossbill several overhead, C. Flicker 1, Am. Robin 18, Am. Pipit
2, C. Raven 5, Steller's Jay 1.
