After reading the various turkey vulture observations, I decided I should share
some anecdata. Mike Doughty, on October 2 1995, reported over 100 turkey
vultures flying roughly south at tree-top level near Yelm Highway and Spurgeon
Creek Road (southeast of Olympia). He described it as a single large flock.
His description of the birds left no doubt in my mind that they were turkey
vultures.

I live close to Yelm Highway (about 5 miles west of there) and I watched about
50 turkey vultures pass by in a more or less continuous stream several years
ago.
