The Eugene CBC count circle contains precious little habitat that
would be attractive to Western Bluebirds. Houses, stores, and
industrial development have taken over much of the bird habitat.
Starlings adapt well to the neighborhood Wendy's and Taco Bell,
but bluebirds do not. So maybe what we are seeing is a comparison
of how adaptable to human development these two species are.
