Let me give it a try, since most people use a DeLorme I'll base my
directions on that, but, I would suggest the Green Trail's map "Liberty"

On page 66, Take Highway 97 to the county line of Chelan/Kittitas, that
is also Swauk Pass. A faint red line is just visible above the word
Kittitas , this is where a sno-park is and the begining of FR 9716 .
Follow FR 9716 down 2 squares and over to the left a bit, This is where
it intersects with FR 9712. Now, on the map, go to the right on FR 9712.

You will note that the faint red line "dips" a little as it goes
across a white blob I think this is where the road crosses a
avalanche slope, which translates to a very narrow road with great
views north and west, there is a passing area at both ends where you
should stop and check to make sure there is no one on this part of the
road before proceeding up or down.

Now you should be where the map says FR9712 which is at the bottom of
another white blob and the words "Diamond Head " is just to the right.
I would say that where the 9 is (in FR 9712) is wehre the parking lot is
unless your car has high clearance and /or 4 wheel drive

Park the car and walk a very short distance north to where the camping
grounds are. Further up the hill is where the raptors folks do the banding.

Dave, of the Hawk Watch said he thought most of the raptors came through
September 8th or so.
