Tweets, Russel Rogers has volunteered to collect all design submissions for
the Tweeters logo. Send them by email to:

rrogers at halcyon.com,

or by snail mail to:

After following the posts (some from some very experienced people) over the
last few weeks I propose that submissions should be suitable for use on a
t-shirt, 3" dia. patch or decal. Thus the design should be simple, bold
and executable in two or three colors. The word "TWEETERS" ,at least,
should appear, possibly with some reference to the Pacific Northwest.
Creativity, novelty and artistic merit will receive extra credit.
Submissions can be descriptions, crude sketches or finished creations in
the medium of your choice. Wild and silly are acceptable but may not make
the final cut.

I suggest that the submissions be displayed and voted upon at the next
Tweeters Picnic. I have asked Mike Waller if the Zoo could be the next
venue, possibly in early or mid-November. If available you'll hear from
him directly. This is a more democratic procedure than having a "design
committee" make the choice. Our geographic restriction makes a quorum
possible.

A consensus seems to be emerging for a t-shirt first, followed by a decal
and then patch.

IMHO, it is a little too early to debate what to do with the profits, if
any. We can decide if there should be profits or if the cost of logo items
should be kept as low as possible at the picnic or electronically.
Birdchat uses them to support the listserver hardware and software
upgrades. Picking a favorite charity might prove too divisive for what is
now a very congenial and cohesive group. We want to keep on having fun,
after all.

So keep those cards, letters and proposals comin' in, folks. Russell
already has a few submissions.
