The Acorn woodpeckers are not at the mouth of the Klickitat- i
also have heard rumors about those and looked around for that colony.
Though this group is close to the klick. - they are west of the river.
They are right off the old hwy 14, across from the Balch Lake road. The
property is owned by fish and wildlife- a purchase which happened (i
think) last year in order to protect the western pond turlte that is also
there.
