An alternate plumage YELLOW-BILLED LOON was seen off of Salisbury Point
County Park in northern Kitsap County, on September 30, and was relocated
on October 1st.

On October 5th, a CATTLE EGRET was report from a pasture in Enumclaw, in
southern King County, near the corner 244th and 400th Ave SE.

At the Tokeland Marina, in Pacific Co., on September 23rd, a BAR-TAILED
GODWIT was among at least 300 MARBLED GODWITS, many WHIMBRELS and 6
WILLETS. A BAR-TAILED GODWIT was reported again at the same location on
September 27th.

Many observers noted a large movement of TURKEY VULTURES through Western
Washington this past week. Noteworthy reports include a single group of
approximately 100 vultures observed flying south at tree-top level near
the Yelm Highway and Spurgeon Creek Road, southeast of Olympia, on
October 2nd. At least 64 seen over down town Seattle in the period of
less than an hour on the morning of October 1st. 30-40 birds seen near
Olympia on September 29 and 22 were seen near Everett also on September
29th.

On October 1st, at the west end of Penn Cove on Whidbey Island, 3 ANCIENT
MURRELETS along with 400+ BLACK TURNSTONES.

A BOBOLINK was seen at the Montlake fill, on the University of Washington
Campus in Seattle, on October 1st. Also seen at the fill this past week
were at least 2 imm. NORTHERN SHRIKES.

The RAVEN reported on the last update, is still being seen at Shilshole
Bay, in Seattle. Ravens are seldom reported from the City of Seattle.

The Falcon Research Group is looking for sighting of Peregrine Falcons,
particularly falcons that are banded. To report sightings, call 517-7163.
