Symposium and Meeting Announcement
March 27-29, 1996

The Western Aquatic Plant Management Society, western chapters of the North
American Lake Management Society, and Portland State University will sponsor
a Symposium on Nonnative Organisms in Western Aquatic Ecosystems on 27
March 1996. The Symposium will feature invited speakers who will discuss
the biology, impact, and management of nonnative plants and animals in
aquatic ecosystems in the West.

Following the Symposium, on 28 and 29 March, the Western Aquatic Plant
Management Society will hold its Annual Meeting, which will include
technical presentations and discussion of techniques and programs for
managing aquatic vegetation. Individuals interested in presenting papers
should contact the Program Chair at the address below.

Concurrent with the Western Aquatic Plant Management Society meeting,
western chapters of the North American Lake Management Society will meet to
discuss regional approaches to prevention and management of invasions by
nonnative aquatic organisms and methods and programs for increasing citizen
involvement in lake management in the West.
