Three pair used to hang out in the Washington Park Arboretum Japanese tea
garden pond. Anyone been in there lately? Seen 'em? Or japonica
turning lovely reds/yellows?

Same pond one spring: Canada honkers were nesting on the little island.
Gardener UNhappy. They were noshing up all his moss. Plus attacking
anyone w/ the temerity to come into the garden. "If the male comes after
you," gardener told me, "just kick him in the chest." Male did; first
time I ever punted a goose. All that flapping and hissing was pretty
impressive (but his bite wasn't much).
