best (and most depressing) summary of pending legislation in Congress
that I've seen thus far. Read it and weep. No, better yet, read it
and tell Slade Gorton you plan to help beat his ass next time around:


Here is tabular summary of the status of the various congressional bills
gutting much of the last 100 years of conservation and environmental
efforts. This table only includes bills put into the budget in an effort
to avoid the light of public debate and the presidential veto.

There are many more free-standing bills, most of which will not pass due
to their greater visibility.

Whatever happened to that GOP pledge for an item veto? Some other
President in some other century I guess.
