Hello, this is portland Audubon Society's Rare Bird Alert. This recording
was made Thursday October 19. If you anything to add call Harry Nehls at

The Brookings WHITE-WINGED DOVE hit a window and died October 11. A BLUE
JAY is coming to a feeder north of Bend since October 16. The SHARP-TAILED
SANDPIPER continues to be seen at Bully Creed Reservoir in Malheur County.

A PALM WARBLER was among a swarm of MYRTLE WARBLERS at Goose Point on
Tillamook Bay October 15. Fifteen BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 13 SEMIPALMATED
PLOVERS, and four SNOWY PLOVERS were on Bayocean Beach at Tillamook Bay
October 18. Three PIGEON GUILLEMOTS were between the jetties at the mouth
of Tillamook Bay that day.

Thing have been slow at the mouth of the Columbia River except for large
numbers of BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, BROWN PELICANS, and HEERMANN'S GULLS.

Waterfowl are exeeding winter numbers in many areas along the coast and on
Sauvie Island. Up to 3000 SANDHILL CRANES are now on the Island. The swarm
of VAUX'S SWIFTS at northwest Portland's Chapman School left during the day
October 11, the day after a strong storm.

A LEWIS' WOODPECKER was at the northwest corner of the Hillsboro Airport
October 15. Up to a dozen are being seen near Perrydale in Polk County. On
October 13 a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was observed flying about the orchard at
the east end of the Willamette River bridge at Independance.

A COMMON GOLDENEYE was at Clear Lake in the Cascades south of Mt. Hood
October 14. Two SNOW GEESE were at Pine Hollow Reservoir and two SURF
SCOTERS were on Rock Creek Reservoir, both in Wasco County October 14.
