My neice had a pet starling for some months. It was quite intelligent
and affectionate. I suspect it became food for a neighbor's cat or
a raptor. If you're going to domesticate a wild bird you'll need
to get it when it's very young (barely fledged) and hand feed it
every hour or two for days. It's not a pleasant task; but it's the only
way the animal will imprint on you. I've raised Scrub Jays and a Crow
and I'd do it again in a minute. They make wonderful pets.
