The bird thing first:

Bonney Butte had its fourth Broad-wing Hawk sighting of the season. It
nearly became the first broad-wing to be banded in the state of Oregon,
as it bounced out of the top trammel of a mistnet in our experimental
banding station (if I'd been there it woulda been caught, yeah!)

The birder thing:

A postive ID of the "Unknown Tweeter" in the "faces" photo collection
from the picnic was made an Stuart's shinding a week ago Friday. The
innocent victim of this photographic mayhem is none other than Jane
Stewart (hope I've got that right!). However, the photo will be of
little use for field identification purposes as Jane cut her hair
after it was taken (perhaps BECAUSE it was taken).
