Today, October 25, Ruth Fischer and Nancy LaFramboise found a second year
Heermann's Gull at the North end of Nelson Island in Leslie Groves Park,
Richland. According to Bob Woodley who also observed this bird, it is the
second record in Eastern Washington (and the first record for Benton county).
The bird was slate colored, had a bicolored bill, dark legs, and had some
white trailing edge of the wing visible on the sitting bird.
It was first observed at 12:30 pm and was still present at 2:30.
