Uhhh...we KNOW those people personally, Tim, so it ain't ignorance.

Also, I made the comment in regard to those who fit the catagory - I
also pointed out that many are:

>field trip leaders for Portland Audubon

etc etc.

In other words, I tried to make it clear I was speaking of a subset
of that group. The existence of that subset baffles me; the existence
doesn't lead me to believe all recreational birders fit that catagory.

(proof: among other things, I'm a recreational birder :).

Sorry if I left the impression I was painting the entire group
black, that was not my intent. I didn't mean to imply that most
birders fit that description.

Even the worst are at least concerned with conservation of their favorite
birding areas..
