Regarding the Michigan crows - while they may have mainly hung out in the
farmland, this farmgirl can tell you that they certainly weren't wary!

While feeding the horses on the farm just outside Ann Arbor, Michigan, I had
to walk from the grain room, outside around the corner of the barn, and down
one wall to the feed buckets.

It never failed, that 3 or 4 pesky crows would lurk behind me on my journey
down the wall. One even learned that if he flew up from behind the wall,
that I sometimes dropped the bucket and this gave them more food than the
infrequent spillage.

They also learned that if they made a huge fuss at one end of the corral, the
stupid horses would leave their food and go see what the fuss was about,
leaving the crows free to gorge themselves for a few minutes at the feed
buckets.

Then there was the silly one who loved to look at himself in the side
mirrors of the cars. He would perch on the mirror, and bend down to look at
himself upside down. He would croon and cluck and make 'baby' noises at his
reflection. I always wondered what whether he thought he was seeing another
crow, or whether he really knew it was just himself.
