Dear Bill and Nancy;

I'm looking at the"Welcome to Spencer Island County Park" brochure but it
gives no written directions just a rough map but here goes anyway (I've been
there once).

Heading North Take I5 exit to Marysville and get back on I5 heading south.
Take the Port of Everett exit (its the first one off the bridge from
Marysville south). Follow signs to Langus Riverfront Park. Its marked the
whole way in I think(?)

You can see the treatment plant as you leave Everett so that can give you
some bearing before you are actually under the freeway. You have to park at
the north end of the Langus Riverfront Park just before the road bends left
(east). The treatment plant is a spiffy orange building. You need permits
from them if you want to bird the wastewater ponds but if you just want to
walk into Spencer Island you dont (I think). Anyway its about 1/4 mile walk
in on the road from the treatment plant to the east. You cross over a
bridge and you are then on Spencer Island. The land to the North (left) is
WDF and open to hunting still (I think) and the land to the right is
Snohomish Park. They were in the middle of setting up interpretive signs
and what looked like a new parking lot so explore abit and you may not have
to walk in so far. Have fun and let us know if you find the Vireo!
