At Williams Lake, B.C., Barrow's Goldeneye (BAGO) were marked with nasal disks
to help in our understanding of site-tenacity and mate-fidelity in winter as
well as survival rates and return rates to the nesting area. Disks of various
shapes and colors were used so that individual birds could be identified. If you
see a marked BAGO this winter, please contact me via mail, e-mail (preferably),
fax, or phone. Please record the location and sex of each bird and the color and
shape of each disk (on each side of bird's bill) if possible. If the latter is
not possible, sex and location are still helpful. Also, please circulate this
message to other birders who may be interested. Thanks for any help.
