+}5ClCSMany Sharp-tail spots are Wa Dept of Fish & Wildlife areas where hunting is
permitted. There's invariably a warning sign not to shoot at Sharp-tails
though...I wonder how many hunters respect this though. Its a shame much of the
Sharptail program is challenged by cattle ranchers who insist on the staus quo
re: grazing, even on lands with purchased specifically for the birds
protection. Oh well...

So...to see a Sharptail in WA, one may have to dodge the hunters in hopes of
seeing one.

Sage Grouse hunting is prohibited in WA, as of about 5 years ago., I believe.
