This is a thread we had some time last summer. You might want be interested
in requesting the digest that contains the related posts. Maybe Dan
Victor could help.

The posts were from me, Dennis P and others on the relative merits of
sitting for long periods of time in one place as opposed to *running and
ticking* off your list.

A British naturalist, D.A. Orton, has 2 interesting books he's
written/monographs he's written (among others) by sitting patiently and
watching."The Merlins of the Welsh Marches" and "The Hawkwatcher"..if you can
locate them, you might enjoy reading them.
