Hi Tweeters, Well I managed to get out today and enjoy a short drive
along the Francis Road passing by some harvested corn fields that border
the Nookachamps River near Mt. Vernon. Nine swans a sunning there, four
grown-ups and five gray ones. No bands. The first I've seen this fall.
One of the adults stood guard on one foot while the others snoozed,
heads resting on their backs. I'm anxious for the hovering flight of
hunting rough-legged hawks returned to the Samish delta.
On another note I would like to propose a toast to tweeters;
this diverse group of people gathered round ornithology. Although I may
have a back row seat it is one of my choosing and I know where the exit is.
I am happy to have found you. Salud!
