The Black-crowned Night Herons have also started to return to their winter
roost on Westham Island, south of Vancouver (B.C.). Up to six can be seen
regularly during thw winter months at the Reifel Refuge. Last Friday I
managed to locate one bird in the usual place but the undergrowth is still
so lush that there may have been others that were hidden.
