Just got back from a brisk walk through NOAA grounds and Magnusson Park.

Along with 5 dogs all *on their leashes* (Yay!), we saw:

-Coots (Rafts and rafts of them - first two rafts had about 20 birds in each,
and then we gave up counting each raft, and decided most were about
that size. Probably 10 rafts in all)
-robins
-unknown gulls (I better take that gull class that Audubon is offering!)
-crows
-widgeons
-mallards (who were so tame they were following the people who fed them all
the way back to the cars)
-bushtits (not 40 - just 5 or 6)
-starlings starlings starlings!
-1 mature bald eagle heading south along the shoreline

Unfortunately, there is a lot of construction going on in Magnusson, and the
trucks have disturbed a large portion of the park.

Saw a NOAA groundsman out whacking down individual scotch broom plants. He
was smoking while using the gas-powered weed whacker. Smart guy. Lots of
loosestrife just *begging* to be pulled ... :)
